Pay It Forward
While I have always been happy to volunteer on occasion or donate to causes in the past, as you become more prosperous yourself you find yourself wanting to give more. I now actively sponsor and participate in making a difference through the following charities, foundations and causes.
One simple way to make a difference… is to share it! Even a single share through social media has huge benefits for any website, including charities. Each “share” is like a vote, in addition to creating awareness. Want to make a difference? Send a tweet out or mention it on Facebook with a link to the charity you support and give yourself a pat on the back for helping to make the world a better place!
One of my favourites is Kiva because it lends money to aspiring entrepreneurs all around the world and you can specify which sex, what kind of business, which country etc., you want to lend to. Then when the loans come back, you can re-lend and top up your lending fund. All of this makes you feel really abundant and I top up when I strike a good deal AND when I’m feeling a bit scarce. You are making a difference and putting yourself in a higher vibration around money and that’s what I call a WIN / WIN!! The Money Gym team has made over 96 loans in over 30 countries!
Other Favourite Foundations, Charities and Causes
Nomore.org – NO MORE is an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault by increasing awareness. Although I am lucky to be able to say this issue has not touched me personally, I do know someone else who lost family members to this and I became aware of this charity through Jeni Hott of Brilliant etc. who lost a sister and a niece to domestic violence.
Now.org Foundation: Love Your Body Movement – Love Your Body Day is October 18th.
Every day, in so many ways, the beauty industry (and the media in general) tell women and girls that being admired, envied and desired based on their looks is a primary function of true womanhood. The beauty template women are expected to follow is extremely narrow, unrealistic and frequently hazardous to their health. The Love Your Body campaign challenges the message that a woman’s value is best measured through her willingness and ability to embody current beauty standards.
Project Semicolon – Project Semicolon is an organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Their work is based on the belief that suicide is preventable. This foundation saves lives by raising public awareness, educating communities, and providing the necessary tools and resources for suicide prevention.
Alzheimer’s Association – This organisation hold an annual awareness walk in more than 600 communities across the USA- these are massive and inspiring events open to people of all ages, including children. The impact is incredible, and it’s truly an amazing experience. All money raised goes toward Alzheimer care, support and research.
