Passive Income - Google Trends Rank Us!

When The Money Gym launched it’s first “Passive Income - 90 Day Internet Challenge” and sent out our press release, little did we think that we would trigger a spike in Google Trends tracking of the key phrase “passive income”.

Here’s how we explained it:

“Whilst the coaches at The Money Gym (www.themoneygym.com) are huge believers in the importance of educating ourselves about the various ways of creating wealth, they are equally aware that nothing beats learning by doing. So, they’ve decided to encourage people to just get down and do it with The Money Gym Passive Income Challenge.

Nowadays, we are always hearing about the big bucks that can be made on the internet, millions of dollars/pounds in one day sometimes, and the concept of making money while you sleep is an exciting one — if true. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to sit at home in our pajamas eating left-over Easter eggs, watching Jeremy Kyle on the telly and stopping only briefly to see how many more sales have pinged into our Paypal account?

Just one ebook sale per day @ £20, from one one-page website, would make an extra £7300 a year — enough for a new car or a couple of nice holidays. Two or three ebooks doing the same would make £21,900 — nearly a full time wage. The beauty of the Internet is that you do the work once, and the money keeps coming.

But the reality is that many people end up making a tenner here, twenty quid there, but never get much further.

In contrast, Nicola Cairncross, founder of the Money Gym, has built a six-figure business marketed entirely online and once made £14,000 in one weekend from one mailout. She knows exactly why people run out of steam in the quest for passive income — in her experience would-be internet entrepreneurs often aren’t prepared to focus attention in one place, on one thing, for long enough to make it work.

Nicola suggests focusing on just one thing - one information product, one niche or one passionate interest - and take consistent regular actions that include:

  • Creating a web presence — a sales page, a brochure site, a blog. All of them preferably.
  • Capturing visitors’ details, encouraging them to subscribe to ezines (online newsletters).
  • Turning visitors into raving fans by providing regular, maybe even daily, valuable content.
  • Having a system to automate the selling of our product.
  • Replicating the process.

As Nicola says, “like creating wealth, making money online is simple but it’s not easy, you have to get off your “assets”, learn new skills and take some action”.

To encourage — or even bully their Money Gym members to success, Nicola and business partner Judith Morgan have decided to set up an Internet Challenge. It’s a three-month personal challenge for anyone who has day-dreamed about creating passive income, or perhaps started but fizzled out along the way.

Anyone can join them for what will be a three-month personal challenge by visiting http://www.TheMoneyGymClub.com and joining the club at Silver Level.

Already people are getting excited about their goals, swapping resources and information…with Nicola on hand to keep everyone focused. And The Money Gym are further incentivising their new Silver members and supporting them in the Challenge by giving them free lifetime access to Nicola’s 12-Step Internet Marketing Home Study Course - which retails for £1450 - and membership of a private email support group. This will provide encouragement, resources and a kick up the backside!

The Money Gym has helped hundreds of people along the road to financial independence (and created millionaires along the way) via their 1:2:1 Money Gym Gold wealth coaching programme. It is a powerful, practical down to earth programme that teaches participants a solid and proven way of creating wealth, with a choice of ways to suit your personality. These could be a choice of, or a combination of high risk, high return investment, solid bricks and mortar, or building a business that you can sell or use to set you up for life”.

So 60 days in, how are the participants getting on?  I thought I would ask them to update you here on the blog - which apart from inspiring you all, will give their projects a useful link from a blog now ranking 3/10 on Google Page Rank.

So guys, who is going to be first to step up to the comments box?

Online Income - Back2Basics

We have hosted two internet marketing orientated webinars in the last two days and one of the things that has come out of them is that, with all the overwhelming amounts of info about, on how to get an online business going, you STILL sometimes feel like you don’t know where to start.

This is totally understandable, as new people are joining the mailing list / Money Gym club site all the time, and you may have joined us after the last article went out, on how to get started if you are a complete novice at this internet marketing lark!

Here’s an overview:

Step 1:  Build a website, blog or profile letting people know who you are and what you are interested in

Stept 2: Capture the names and emails of the visitors to your site, onto an automated mailing list, and keep in touch with them weekly

Step 3:  Find products or services that you genuinely think are great, become an affiliate of those things

Step 4:  Send out info on those things to your list with your affiliate link in

Step 5:  Create some products or services to offer yourself to your list

Step 6:  Find ways to outsource or automate all of the above

Did you see the recurrance of the word “list” in there?  This is because there are two things you need to make money online and one of them is a “mailing list”

Now, the above steps are simple but not easy and this is where the support of the Money Gym comes in.  But even our sites are big and overwhelmingly full of stuff, eh?

So, what I thought might be helpful is if I give you a short, simple list of Money Gym internet resources and where to find them?

RESOURCE 1.  Here is the link to three articles I have written, which will help you get started with internet marketing

Article :  Getting Started With Making Money Online http://tinyurl.com/66u7fg

FAQ:  Getting Started Online #2 http://themoneygym.com/blog/2006/07/21/faq-getting-started-online-2/

Useful Tip 1:  The blog has an internet marketing catagory called “Highway #2:  The Internet” which narrows it all down a bit - check the “archive” links too at the bottom of the oldest blog postings

Useful Tip 2 :  There is also a keyword search box down the side panel of the blog (just under the orange button / subscribe box), where you can search all 700+ previously archived postings by keyword or key phrase, or just on the topic you are interested in
RESOURCE 2:  At The Money Gym Club site, there are some forums where you can post questions and again, there is a search box down the left.

http://www.themoneygymclub.com/forums - register for free, login and post your questions.  Use the RSS feed facility to be notified when you get an answer.
RESOURCE 3:  Find all our most recommended resources here - the software, the tools and the people who we outsource to

http://www.themoneygymclub.com/categories/20070314_13

That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with some more internet marketing resources for you,

But don’t forget we have an Internet Marketing workshop coming up on Saturday 17th May, where you can find out all about list building on autopilot and how to blog to get business.

http://www.TheMoneyGym.com/mgpresents/internet1.htm

Cheers Nicola

p.s. There may be some earlybird tickets left at £97 but when the first 20 places have gone, it goes up to £147 - still well worth it at twice that investment!!

Online Income - Basics 2

Following on from my blog posting yesterday, giving you some simple resources to get you started online, here are a couple more, along with news of an exciting and totally fr*ee webinar I’m hosting tomorrow morning (Friday) at 11am, with Tim Brocklehurst, genius list builder extraordinaire!

Resource 1:

Yesterday we covered the need for a website or blog, to allow people to find you, and find out who you are, what you do, what you recommend (via an affiliate link) and most importantly, what you can do for them.

You would be amazed how easy and cheap it is to set up a professional search engine friendly blog and we recommend Typepad for starters.  If you want the most economic package with the best features, you will need the middle package and you can get a free trial here

http://viralurl.com/moneygym/typepad

Resource 2:

The internet marketing section of The Money Gym ebook is a good place to start with the basics, and you can get that at no charge, just by subscribing to our 101 Wealth Tips on the site.  However, as a reader of our blog, if you have lost or deleted it or don’t want to wait for the internet module to arrive, you can download the whole 101 tips here as a zipped up file.

Trials Of An ADD Internet Marketeer

.videopostcard Trials Of An ADD Internet Marketeer

Life as an internet marketer never runs smooth and this week I tried to send out a video postcard about Alan’s workshop.  Now, while I can see it fine in the “postcard creator” software, on the blog, on YouTube, etc, you can never predict  what will happen online and lo and behold, it didnt’ seem to work.  Well not for two days anyway - it’s working fine now!

One of the lessons to learn and I have learned it.  Do your best, tell everyone what is happening, and try anyway!  Better to be out there than perfect eh?

You can view said video in it’s original form here

Or on YouTube here

Bit of a story around this video postcard….in addition to the fact I now have to ring the USA at lunchtime to see what’s gone wrong and why it’s now working but it wasn’t when I sent it out grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr….

Money Gym Internet Challenge

The Money Gym members are throwing down an internet challenge says Money Gym coach Marion Ryan!  Nowadays, we are always hearing about the big bucks that can be made on the internet, millions of dollars/pounds in one day sometimes, and the concept of making money while you sleep is an exciting one - if true!

Sitting at home in our jim-jams eating bagels and left-over Easter eggs, watching Jeremy Kyle on the telly and stopping only briefly to see how many more sales have pinged into our Paypal account.  Wouldn’t that be nice?

Just one ebook sale per day @ £20, from one one-page website, would make us an extra £7300 a year - enough for a new car or a couple of nice holidays.  Two or three ebooks doing the same would make £21,900 - nearly a full time wage.  The beauty of the internet is that you do the work once, and the money keeps coming.  Imagine if you could spend a month putting up one ebook for sale - by the end of the year, you would be making £87,600 per annum.

There’s a problem though. The reality, for many of us is that we make a tenner here, twenty quid there, but most people never get much further than that in our pursuit of passive income.

Founder of The Money Gym Nicola Cairncross, who has built a six-figure business marketed entirely online, and who once made £14,000 in one weekend from one email, tells us she knows exactly why that is:

* We aren’t prepared to focus our attention in one place, on one thing, for long enough to make it work.

Nicola says if we just focus on one thing – one information product, one niche or one passionate interest – and take consistent regular action we can make ourselves some passive income online, and having done it once, can replicate those results over and over.   This action would include

* Creating a web presence – a sales page, a brochure site, a blog.  All of them preferably

* Capturing visitors’ details, encouraging them to subscribe to ezines (online newsletters)

* Turning them into raving fans by providing regular, maybe even daily, valuable content

* Having a system to automate the selling of our product till we make a profit

* Replicating the process.

As Nicola says, “like creating wealth, making money online is simple but it’s not easy, you have to get off your “assets”, learn new skills and take some action”.

To encourage - or even bully! their Money Gym members, to success, Nicola and Judith, her partner, have decided to set up an Internet Challenge for any of us who are sick of diddling about in this “Wealth Highway Lane” on a rusty old bike with a punctured tyre and broken bell and would like to trade up to a moped, a Harley or a Porsche.  Something that will always need a bit of maintenance and some petrol but then just watch it go…

The Money Gym are incentivising their new Silver members and supporting them in the Challenge by giving them free lifetime access to Nicola’s 12-Step Internet Marketing Home Study Course - which retails for £1450 - and membership of a private email support group.  This will provide encouragement, resources and a kick up the backside!

Your investment £27.50 a month (minimum one year), your return will be the support and knowledge to create a passive income online for life.

So if you’d like to join us for a three-month personal challenge to up the stakes on our internet passive income game then you should visit http://www.TheMoneyGymClub.com and join the club at Silver Level using the promotional code InternetChallenge.

Then, join the private Google group and do a search for “internet challenge” and you can read all the back discussions and get involved right now!

Video Blogging - Zero to Hero in 60

If you have been thinking that you want to start blogging, to promote your business, then I have some great resources for you.   Blogging for business is all about people getting to know, like and trust you and if you click on Mike’s links below you can find out how companies from tour operators to bug exterminators to carpet showrooms are all getting in on the act!!  You just have to check out all the case studies but the Carpet Depot one is an absolute classic - scroll down and click on the “who works here” video.  Makes me want to go to Atlanta, Georgia for all my carpet needs - they are all so sweet!

There are a number of inexpensive turnkey solutions to do streaming video online, the best of which is Armand Morin’s Generator suite of products including InstantAudioGenerator and InstantVideoGenerator.   However, easy to use as this is, it will lock you into a small but recurring payment for the life of your website.  If you are not at all techie minded, this is probably the best solution for you however and Armand’s products have some nice little extras like being able to quickly record a video using the cam on your computer and send out your message as a video postcard - great click through rates on those, let me tell you.

.mikestewart Video Blogging - Zero to Hero in 60If you want to learn how to do it yourself, step by step, and get more skilled while still using easy-to-learn tools, then you need to get to know my audio and video mentor - Mike Stewart - you can check out his great - and very inexpensive - tutorials here (which I have and I swear by!)

http://www.fromthedeskofmikestewart.com

Mike owned - and may still own for all I know - his own recording studio in Nashville and speaks at every internet marketing event as he’s passionate about using audio and video on the internet. He has some very inexpensive tutorials on DVD or to download, and walks you through all the equipment you need (and never more than you need!)

He has just released a great one-hour audio with Tracy Childers, of FLV Producer fame and here’s what Tracy had to say about it.

This certainly is an exciting time to be on the cutting edge of video. The past 3 years have been absolutely amazing.  The great news is that more is yet to come. I just finished an interview with Mike Stewart “The Internet Video Guy”. We talked about using video on the internet and what the latest and most effective trends are. The interview is just over an hour long and we posted it for you online at:
http://www.tracyandmikevideo.com You can listen to the whole thing from the site or you can download the mp3 file. It’s in the top right corner of the page.  Look for the Yellow Play button or the mp3 download. You’ll definitely want to hear this call. Wait until you hear the results he shares that he and his clients are getting with, “Video Landing Pages”. If you don’t know what that is, don’t worry we explain it specifically in the interview. http://www.tracyandmikevideo.com Have a great weekend and keep making more videos! Best of Success, Tracy Childers FLV Producer

YouTube: Harness the Power

.stephen_pierce YouTube: Harness the PowerOver at Stephen Pierce’s online radio show DTAlpha Talkback, he has just shared the most amazing tip about how to harness the power of YouTube for market research, and finding high traffic RELEVENT sites to advertise on, and high traffic blogs and forums to comment on (with links back to your site of course!).  As I’ve just discovered through the use of an adtracking code on my YouTube channel www.YouTube.com/wealthcoach that every click from YouTube is worth £64 / $108 to The Money Gym he really got my attention!  Check out Stephen’s show here and while you are there, subscribe so you don’t miss a free traffic generating trick!

Video & Audio - A Simple Guide

Money Gym TV - Paula McCarthurIf you want to add video and audio to your blog / website (and you should!)  there are a number of inexpensive turnkey solutions to this, the best of which is Armand Morin’s Generator suite of products including InstantAudioGenerator and InstantVideoGenerator.

However, my mentor in all of this is Mike Stewart who you can find at www.FromTheDeskofMikeStewart.com - he owns his own recording studio in Nashville and speaks at every internet marketing event as he’s passionate about this. He has some very inexpensive tutorials on DVD or to download, and walks you through all the equipment you need (and never more than you need!)

TECHIE STUFF:  I use either a handheld digital FlipVideo (great quality and perfect for testimonials) or a simple inexpensive camcorder on a tripod, and a really decent mic which makes a huge difference (either a hand-held mic or a lavalier mic which clips to my collar and plugs into the camcorder) or a desk based studio quality mic, which connects to my computer via an Edirol soundbox.

I have a lightsnake which connects a mic to the puter without a soundbox, but have never managed to make that work - same with my firewire which connects the camcorder to the puter. So I soldier on with USB connections and they work fine.I use Mike’s simple bit of software which captures the sound and video together into a short .AVI video which I can then edit. To edit, you can use Windows Movie Maker (Start menu > Accessories > WMM) or now I use Sony Vegas Movie Maker - allows you to layer the “5 essential elements of great TV” which is moving pictures, still pictures, sound/music, effects, text. I then turn the edited .AVI file into either an MPEG or WMV file for uploading to YouTube / Google Video, or a FLASH movie for streaming from our own site.To create the latter, I use Mike Stewart and Jim Edwards FLV Producer software (very inexpensive) then their FLV Player Creator, which uploads the video and the code for the “little TV” you see.

All of these bits of software cost between $40 and $90 and they all simplify the process and streamline it.

OUTCOMES: To give you an idea, I can film a short movie and have it online in about 15 minutes. Just yesterday, someone booked on one or our workshops and quoted the podcast as how she heard about us.

If you upload a big video file to Google, such as a .AVI or .WMV file, you can then download it as an MPEG4 which you can then easily video podcast for folks to look at on their new iPhone - we use Hipcast.com which also podcasts audio and video via iTunes, but I do know how to do it from your Wordpress blog too now.
